Paulo Coelho's books are banned from Iran
Brazilian author Paulo Coelho has revealed that the sale of his books have been banned in Iran.
The best-selling writer posted a letter from his editor in Iran on his blog, informing him of the news.
"I strongly hope this misunderstanding will be solved during the week. And I strongly count on the Brazilian government to support me," he wrote.
Coelho said his work has been on sale in Iran since 1998 and that he did not know the reason for the ban.
He has now decided to make all of his books which are translated into the Persian language, or Farsi as it is known in Iran, available for free on the internet.
