Country star Billy Grammer dies aged 85

Grand Ole Opry star Billy Grammer, best known for his 1959 hit Gotta Travel On, has died aged 85.

The musician died at his home in Illinois of natural causes, spokeswoman Jessie Schmidt said.

The singer, who suffered a heart attack earlier this year, developed the Grammer guitar in 1965.

The flat top instrument became popular with other artists. He donated his first model to the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1969.
