Three people have been killed as rockets fired from Gaza struck an apartment block in southern Israel, amid escalating violence.

It marks the first Israeli fatalities since the Hamas' military chief, Ahmed Jabari, was killed in Gaza on Wednesday.

Eleven Palestinians - mainly militants but also children - have died in the ensuing Israeli operation.
