The growth of mega-cities around the world is creating a new demand: for monumental outdoor mural art, the kind that covers the entire sides of multi-storey buildings.

The world's acknowledged leader in the field is the French city of Lyon where the world's first ever school for mural art has just opened.

The founder of the EcohlCite School of Mural Art, Gilbert Coudene told BBC News about the skills his students need to acquire and why outdoor art is important.
