Woodstock icon Richie Havens dies


Richie Havens, the folk singer who opened the legendary 1969 Woodstock rock festival, has died of a heart attack at the age of 72.

He passed away at his home in Jersey City, New Jersey, according to his agent, Roots Agency.

Born in Brooklyn, New York, Richie Havens was famous for his distinctive guitar and singing style. Tim Allman reports.
