Carole King receives Gershwin Prize from President Obama

Singer-songwriter Carole King has become the first female to win the Gershwin Prize for Popular Song.

US President Obama presented the award on Wednesday at the White House.

King performed You've Got a Friend with James Taylor at the ceremony.
