Has M Night Shyamalan lost his touch?

When the American director M Night Shyamalan burst onto the scene with his 1999 supernatural thriller The Sixth Sense he made a big impact, it was seen as a cinematic masterpiece and it was predicted that he could become the next Hitchcock or Spielberg.

Since his debut he has made seven films - and most have been slated by critics.

Now his latest film After Earth has just been released in the US to negative reviews and disappointing box office. Some are asking if the director has lost his touch.

Talking Movies' Tom Brook reports.

Talking Movies is broadcast on BBC World News on Saturday at 13:30 GMT and Sunday at 00:30, 07:30 and 20:30 GMT.
