Film maker Sam Taylor-Johnson has been named as the director for the adaptations of E L James's Fifty Shades novels.

It will be the second feature film for the director, who rose to fame under her maiden name, Taylor-Wood.

The novels tell of the sadomasochistic relationship between billionaire businessman Christian Grey and "unworldly, innocent" student Anastasia Steele.
