Kim Cattrall & Marianne Elliott on ageing in the spotlight

23 June 2013 Last updated at 09:13 BST

Actress Kim Cattrall is best-known for her portrayal of the sexually voracious Samantha Jones in Sex and the City, but more recently she has been taking on challenging theatre roles on the British stage.

She is currently appearing as ageing movie star Alexandra del Lago in Tennessee Williams's Sweet Bird of Youth, directed by Marianne Elliott (who also held the reins on successful West-End productions War Horse and Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time).

Speaking to Sophie Raworth on The Andrew Marr Show, the pair discussed the difficulties of being a woman in an industry focused on youth.
