Les Dennis, Janet Street-Porter and boxer Joe Calzaghe will fight for the title of Celebrity MasterChef 2013.

The stars will face competition from 13 other showbusiness names, including Adrian Edmondson, cricketer Matthew Hoggard and Boyzone star Shane Lynch.

After two years of being bumped around the schedules, the cooking contest will make a return to prime time on BBC One.

Last year's series, on BBC Two, attracted an average audience of 1.84m, down from 4.86m in 2010.

The remaining contestants on the show's menu include actors John Thomson, Denise Black and Brian Capron; and comedians Katy Brand and Shappi Khorsandi.

TV presenter Miranda Krestovnikoff also takes part, as does triple jumper Phillips Idowu, Sugababes singer Heidi Range, Mercury award winning rapper Speech Debelle and Ronnie Wood's ex-wife, Jo Wood.

They will be put through their paces by regular judges John Torode and Gregg Wallace, over six weeks of culinary challenges.

Along the way, the contestants will be asked to cater for the cast of Cirque De Soleil at The Royal Albert Hall and the Harlequins rugby team in Twickenham.

Now in its eighth series, Celebrity MasterChef has previously been won by rugby player Phil Vickery, singer Liz McClarnon and actress Nadia Sawalha.

Last year's winner was actress Emma Kennedy, whose winning dishes included pan fried turbot and a dessert of poached meringue in creme anglaise.
