Samantha Shannon's first book, which she wrote when she was 15, was rejected by publishers and agents.

Undeterred she started writing her second aged 19 whilst studying at Oxford University.

The result is The Bone Season, the first in a seven-part series, which is being published in 24 countries.

Samantha told BBC Breakfast about her budding career.
