5 September 2013 Last updated at 10:09 BST

Woody Allen's latest film has been set in the aftermath of the banking crisis.

Blue Jasmine stars Cate Blanchett as a New York socialite who is ruined after her financier husband, played by Alec Baldwin, is exposed as a fraud.

The film has won plaudits in the US and Blanchett is expected to figure among the Oscar nominees.

Ahead of the release of 'Blue Jasmine' in British cinemas later this month, Stephen Smith went to Paris to meet the director.
