Cash-strapped local councils sell artworks

With reduced budgets and rising costs, many local councils are turning to alternative sources to try to raise much needed extra money.

Some are selling publicly-owned pieces of art worth hundreds of thousands of pounds, but the practice has proved controversial.

Tim Muffett reports.
