Actress Jamie Lee Curtis is to star in a new medical drama as the mother of adult quadruplets who grew up on a reality TV show, according to Variety.

Brothers & Sisters producer David Marshall Grant is behind the as-yet-unnamed project for CBS.

Curtis's character, called Caroline, is also a distinguished physician.

The actress currently plays Zooey Deschanel's mother in Fox's New Girl. Her films include True Lies, Halloween, A Fish Called Wanda and Trading Places.

She is the daughter of actors Tony Curtis and Janet Leigh, who played the victim of the famous shower scene in Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho.

Spartacus star Curtis died in 2010, while Leigh died in 2004.

Curtis has also had a series of children's books published, including My Mommy Hung the Moon, It's Hard to Be Five and Where Do Balloons Go?

Brothers & Sisters, which ran from 2006-2011, earned actress Sally Field a Primetime Emmy Award and a Screen Actors Guild Award.

Grant's other small screen successes include the NBC musical series Smash.
