Oscars: Why was Sir Alex Ferguson there?

Sir Alex Ferguson was one of the guests at this year's Oscars, saying he "had time on my hands" since retiring.

The former Manchester United manager said he thought 12 Years a Slave, which won best film at the awards, was a "great movie".
