Game of Thrones author: TV network 'makes final decisions'

7 April 2014 Last updated at 11:28 BST

There is no longer a "perception" that fantasy is for children, Game of Thrones author George RR Martin has said.

Mr Martin, an executive producer on the television show based on his novels, told the Today programme that while he can have input into the direction the programme takes, decisions will ultimately be made "by the network", HBO.

First broadcast on BBC Radio 4's Today programme on Monday 7 April.
