A Facebook employee has won the right to appear and die in a sequel to Game of Thrones.

Dave Goldblatt, from San Francisco, bid $20,000 in a charity auction to feature in the books by George R.R. Martin.

Asked how he wanted to be killed off in the book, the 30-year-old told BBC Radio 5 live's Breakfast: "I'd want to be in a really cool swordfight."

A release date for any future books by George RR Martin is yet to be announced.
