US blockbuster season box office down

The Hollywood studios have seen a significant fall in box office revenue during the blockbuster season.

Although there have been some commercial and creative successes, and some new stars have emerged, these are challenging times for the studios.

Despite a reduction in the seasonal revenues in the US compared to last year, the international market for big budget US films has done well.
