New Jonathan Creek will be 'spookiest ever' says Alan Davies
Jonathan Creek star Alan Davies has said the latest one-off special of the show will be the "spookiest ever".
Daemons' Roost will also star Sarah Alexander as his wife, along with Warwick Davies, in the tale of a sorcerer whose gruesome rituals are enacted with "horrifying consequences".
Davies added: "Jonathan Creek finds himself in real danger."
The comedy drama, about an illusionist who helps solve murders, was first shown in 1997.
Shane Allen, the BBC's controller of comedy commissioning, said it was "another sublime and intricately conceived treat from [writer] David Renwick".
The show last appeared on TV in 2014, and has previously starred Sheridan Smith, Caroline Quentin and Julia Sawalha.
