Finding Dory beats Jason Bourne at UK box office

Finding Dory has topped the box office in the UK and Ireland after taking £8.1m on its opening weekend.

The animated children's film, which features the voice of Ellen DeGeneres, was released on Friday - 13 years after its predecessor, Finding Nemo.

Jason Bourne - the fifth film in the Bourne series - debuted at number two with earnings of £7.6m.

Last week's number one, The BFG, dropped to number three after taking £3.4m.

Star Trek Beyond took fourth place with £2.3m while The Secret Life of Pets remained at number five with £730,000.

Finding Dory has already become the highest-grossing animated film of all time in the US.
