Rise in cost of home care for elderly

A survey by the Labour Party suggests there has been a sharp rise in the cost of home care for elderly and disabled people provided by local authorities in England.

The figures suggest residents needing the weekly average of 10 hours of care are now paying around £7,000 a year.
