Health officials disagree over Leeds heart unit reopening

A war of words has broken out among senior NHS executives over the standard of care at the newly reopened children's cardiac unit at Leeds General Infirmary.

The Medical Director of NHS England, Sir Bruce Keogh, has said he is "puzzled" by comments from the former national director of heart disease, Professor Roger Boyle, that the unit is on the "edge of acceptability" and not somewhere he would send his own daughter.
