Each week we publish a gallery of readers' pictures on a set theme. This week the theme is "waiting" and we begin with an image taken by Tanu Sharma in Islamabad, Pakistan.
Louise Johansson: "Wrinkles, waiting on his owner, or perhaps a long-lost love, in Saint-Tropez."
Lucia Svecova: "Waiting for Godot? At the train station, Presov, Slovakia"
Malcolm Chapman: "Berber market in Azrou, Morocco. The sheep... were very calm and the farmer very patient as he waited for a buyer."
Kelly Hart: "I took this back in the 1960s in Berkeley, California."
Gordon Stewart: "Taken at Villefrance railway station while waiting on a return train to Nice. This shows the result of waiting for a connection during siesta."
Megan Anderson: "A stand-off... on safari near the Ngorongoro crater, Tanzania, (needless to say the giraffe won)."
Andrew Shuttleworth: "I took the photograph in Ecuador on New Year's Eve in 2008. The three children at the bottom of the stairs were waiting for their uncle to come and take them to the beach to play."
David Brown: "At anchor off Lahaina on the island of Maui, Hawaii, on 1 November. The ship's officers are preparing to sail and are waiting for the last passengers to board from a boat lying alongside the ship, [which] ferried the passengers back from shore."
And finally a photo by Laurence Short in County Durham. Next week the theme is "Christmas shopping", and the deadline for your entries is 11 December. If you would like to enter, send your pictures to firstname.lastname@example.org. Further details and terms can be found by following the link below this gallery.
