Readers' photos on the theme of zoos.
Each week we publish a gallery of readers' pictures on a set theme. This week it is "zoos" and we begin with this photograph, taken by Aidan Forsythe at Edinburgh Zoo.
Maria Marks: "I went to the Toronto Zoo in October to see the pandas, but my real find was a green tree python."
Panagiotis Samaras: "A pair of parrots at Stockholm's zoo."
Robby Bernstein photographed this hippo at the zoo in Washington DC.
Valentino Lee: "A scarlet macaw testing the strength of the wire enclosure with its strong beak at the Belize Zoo in Central America."
Christian Eberle: "The 40-year-old orangutan, Bruno, in the Hellabrunn Zoo in Munich, Germany. Just imagine how many visitors he has seen in his life."
Mark Nolan: "A snow leopard at Banham Zoo."
Manisha Malhotra: "Marking his territory, a crocodile resting in the sand."
Jasper Dalgliesh: "This was taken at the Hawk Conservation Trust's zoo near Andover, Hampshire. A wonderful opportunity to get up close to so many birds of prey."
Marijke Durieux: "Although interesting, zoo visits can also be exhausting, as we experienced at the San Diego Zoo."
Michael Darling: "Brad the day-old Rothschild's giraffe, with mum Joyce, at the Flamingo Land zoo in Malton, North Yorkshire."
Chandralekha: "I was quite perplexed when I saw the theme and actually contemplated visiting London Zoo to be able to do it justice. It was at this time when I happened to see my daughter playing with her toy animals and teddies. The animals from the zoo are invited to tea by my daughter."
Elodie Curran: "This is a photo of a group of posing penguins that I took at London Zoo a couple of years ago. I thought their positions looked like they were dancing."
And finally, a photograph from Tom Laws which was taken at the Welsh Mountain Zoo. The next theme is "freedom" and the deadline for your entries is 28 January. If you would like to enter, send your pictures to email@example.com. Further details and terms can be found by following the link below this gallery.
