Readers' photos on the theme of "mountains".
Christopher John Keogh
Each week, we publish a gallery of readers' pictures on a set theme. This week it is "mountains", and we begin with this picture by Christopher John Keogh near the top of Lochnagar in Aberdeenshire.
Fran van Staalduinen: "On the way home from work, noticed that we would have a great sunset and Alpine glow. So took a detour on the road less travelled, and was not disappointed!"
Tom Driscoll: "The Italian resort Cervinia sits at the foot of the famous Matterhorn mountain."
Zoltan Voros: "I took this image in the northern-Tyrolean Alps on the last dawn of the year, as the darkness was giving way to the Sun rising behind me, while the Moon in front of me was still trying for a lasting impression. The village (Seefeld in Tirol, Austria) below was just coming to life to usher in the year."
Rebecca Payne: "At the top of the Aiguille du Midi ski-lift in Chamonix, France, endless lines of skiers hike down the side of the mountain to reach their starting point for a multi-hour ski that ends on the Mer de Glace, France's largest glacier. I contented myself with watching."
Cristina Caceres sent in this picture of the salt pans at Maras in Peru.
Alexis Birkill: "The intersection of West Broadway and Cambie in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada on a cold evening. In the distance the Cambie Bridge, some of the buildings of downtown Vancouver, and fresh snow on the North Shore mountains can be seen. "
Manisha Malhotra: "Beautiful cloud-shadowed mountains on the way to Leh, India."
Anna Sobotka: "This picture was taken in the El Chalten area in Argentina. The hiking there is incredible, the views unforgettable."
Brittany Vasher: "Hiking up the mountain Snezka from the Czech side, in the summer the chair-lifts run to the top, but in winter getting to the top requires a little more work."
And finally, a photograph of Mount Fuji from a bullet train by Mark Konrad. The next theme is "numbers" and the deadline for your entries is 1 July. If you would like to enter, send your pictures to firstname.lastname@example.org. Further details and terms can be found by following the link below this gallery.
