Jack Liu captured this image from his apartment as fire engulfed an area near Mainland Bridge in Lagos, Nigeria, on 18 August.
The clock face of the Elizabeth Tower in London, UK, which houses the famous Big Ben bell, was being cleaned this week, with the hands frozen at 12 o'clock, as caught by Edwin Hopper camera's lens on 20th August.
And Iain Tall was among those taking photos two days into the clean-up job 60m above the corridors of Westminster on 20 August.
That same morning in Oxford, UK, keen astronomy photographer Ashish Thandavan took this image of a different spectacle of lofty clockwork which played out this week as Venus and Jupiter aligned for the first time since 2000.
From time to Timelord as Peter Capaldi appeared at an event in Parliament Square, London, on Friday to promote his debut as Doctor Who on Saturday. Among the excitement of fans, Liane Fontaine took this photo of Mr Capaldi "without thinking that he would appear in someone else's viewer at the same time".
The International Town Crier competition took place in Chester Cathedral, UK, on Saturday afternoon and Sara Bishop was on-hand to photograph Chris Wayman of Kingston, Ontario, Canada, who went on to win the event.
