You'd be a fool to miss the canal bus

It may be the weekend tomorrow - April 1 , in fact - so rush hour won't be at the forefront of minds, but here's a lovely alternative to the overcrowded commute - National Express West Midlands' canal bus.

The thing is, we reckon local modes of transport may be staying dry for a while yet.

In the meantime, please enjoy this photo that's had no computer manipulation by the company whatsoever - no way, definitely not.

Your questions: 'Why are faggots considered a Black Country delicacy?'

Jennifer Meierhans

BBC News Online

You've been getting in touch with your questions about Birmingham and the Black Country.

We were asked: "Why are faggots considered a Black Country delicacy?"

Faggots were developed as a way of using up all the bits of pig that would otherwise be discarded and have been on sale in the Black Country for  more than a century.

The meatballs, made of minced offal, are traditionally served with mashed potato, peas and gravy. Here is a  BBC Good Food recipe  you can try.
