Coventry Bees ride again

Coventry Bees Speedway supporters are expected to head to Peterborough in numbers this weekend. 

The full Bees line up will race in a challenge meeting against the Pirates in a match arranged by the Save Coventry Speedway campaign.

The Bees have been expelled from this season's Premiership due to the lack of a home track.

Crowds support ring road poetry event

An event celebrating Coventry's ring road with a series of films and verse attracted a crowd of more than 250 at Fargo last night, organisers say.

Coventry 'one of the UK's fastest-moving property markets'

Coventry is listed as being in the top ten property hotspots in Britain by the website Zoopla.

The search portal looked at the typical length of time between a home going up for sale on its site  and the listing changing to "under offer" in 50 large towns and cities outside London.

Coventry properties came in at eighth fastest at 35 days, compared to a country-wide average of 42.

Northampton performed best at 27 days, and properties in Wales sitting on the market for the longest length of time, around 66 days.

Two charged following Nuneaton assault

Two men have been arrested and charged after an incident in Cedar Road, Nuneaton on Wednesday, police say.

Both have been charged with grievous bodily harm and two counts of criminal damage to property.

Electoral fraud claims: Two interviewed

Evidence relating to electoral fraud allegations could be handed over to the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) shortly, Warwickshire Police says.

Twelve police forces have submitted reports to the CPS  relating to the use of the Conservative "battle bus", and how it was recorded in campaign spending returns during the 2015 general election.

The number is down on last year's event,  when more than 4,200 completed the course, but registration for the race only opened in December after the previous organisers withdrew.

More fly-tipping reported in North Warwickshire

More fly-tipping has been reported to the council in North Warwickshire, this time in Packington Lane Coleshill.

The council is reminding residents that incidents, including rubbish, fly-posting and graffiti can be reported to them via its online service.
