One arrested after Nuneaton robbery

A man's been arrested after an armed robbery in a Nuneaton bank, police say.

They say they were called to the scene, believed to be a branch of Nat West, shortly after midday when a man threatened staff and demanded money.

A quantity of cash was handed over.

BMW workers target 'posh' showroom

BMW workers are set to stage a protest outside the German car-maker's showroom on London's Park Lane on Saturday as part of a dispute over pensions.

Members of the Unite union will take part in the demonstration ahead of a further six days of industrial action at BMW plants around the country, including Hams Hall in Warwickshire.

BMW angered workers when it announced plans to close its final salary pension scheme.

Unite national officer Fred Hanna said "the protest outside the car maker's posh Park Lane showroom" would highlight a need to talk about "affordable options to keep the scheme open". 

Fishery closed after outbreak of disease

An outbreak of Spring Viraemia of Carp (SVC) disease has been confirmed at Arden Lakes, Stratford-Upon-Avon.

The Centre for Environment Fisheries and Aquaculture Science said that the fishery on Ingon Lane in Snitterfield is now subject to statutory controls to prevent or limit the spread of the disease.

That means the movement of fish to, from and within the site is not allowed.

Third person faces murder charge over Gregory Kelly death

A third man has been charged with murdering Gregory Kelly in Mancetter at the end of March.

The 26 year old died five days after being found with critical head injuries on Manor Road. 

Robert Keavey, 38, of Princess Road in Atherstone was remanded in custody at an appearance at Leamington Spa Magistrates' Court earlier.

Employee celebrates 70 years at firm

A woman who's believed to be the UK's longest-serving employee is celebrating 70 years working for an engineering firm.

Monica Evans, 89, has been working at Kigass Ltd in Warwickshire since April 1947.

She started as an accountant aged 19 and has had decades of unbroken service.

During that time she's seen the company grow from six to 70 employees and says she is thrilled to be honoured by her colleagues.

Coventry City: Injury-hampered squad for last match

Coventry City boss confirms that his squad is suffering with a number of injuries entering the end of season tie with Scunthorpe United.

The Trust organising the bid submitted it yesterday, outlining what it'd put on if it won the competition.

One-Day Cup: Hain helps Warwickshire to victory

Sam Hain's unbeaten 89 helped holders Warwickshire race to a 10-wicket victory over Northants in a rain-affected One-Day Cup match.

Tool thefts on rise

A BBC investigation has found that the number of tool thefts from vans in the West Midlands has almost doubled in the last three years.

There were more than 2,500 thefts between 2014 and 2015, and last year that number had risen to more than 4,500.

It's thought criminals are buying locksmith tools off the internet and using them to gain access to vehicles. 

Premiership: Wasps expecting close game at the Stoop

The club needs just one victory and travels to Harlequins tonight.
