The Ilkeston mother of a girl with a rare genetic disorder has welcomed news newborns

Supermarket Aldi has issued a product recall

after salmonella was found in a batch of chocolate sold in the Midlands.

The store has recalled 200g (7oz) packs of Choceur Treasures with a best before date of 1 September 2015 which were sold in several towns and cities, including Derby, Nottingham, Leicester and Birmingham.

Free parking pilot starts

Free one-hour parking has been introduced in car parks in Ilkeston and Long Eaton to encourage more people to visit businesses in both town centres.

The 60p one-hour charge has been scrapped at 16 borough-council owned car parks

from today as part of a pilot scheme due to run until 28 June.

Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink paid tribute to 20-year-old Darragh Lenihan after

A murder investigation has started after a 71-year-old man who was assaulted in Derby on Friday died in hospital.

Police said the victim was walking dogs with a friend when he was attacked at the corner of Gerard Street and Mercian Way. Anyone with information is asked to call 101.

Police have started a murder investigation after a 71-year-old man who was attacked in Derby last week

died in hospital this morning.

A 22-year-old man was yesterday charged with causing grievous bodily harm over the assault, which happened at the junction of Mercian Way and Gerard Street at about 00:30 on Friday.
