Derbyshire's chief fire officer was in tears on the stand today as he denied raping a woman in a Derbyshire pub eight years ago.
Asked about the day of the alleged attack in December 2006, Mr Frayne told jurors he had followed the woman out of the bar to another room where she kissed him passionately and instigated consensual sex.
Mr Frayne was tearful throughout his evidence, telling the jury: "It's just wrecked my life."
The trial continues.
