Insulin theft: woman charged

A woman has been charged with stealing a bag from a McDonald's restaurant

containing a diabetic boy's insulin.

Sherie Stokes, 32, from Derby, was bailed and is due to appear before magistrates on 17 April 17.

Loan signing for Reds

Alfreton Town

have signed Harrogate Town striker Jake Speight on loan until the end of the season.

It will be the former Bradford City man's second loan spell with the Reds - he spent a month with them in late 2013.

Children 'rob 92-year-old'

Three boys aged 11, 12, and 13 have been arrested on suspicion of robbing a 92-year-old woman in Alvaston.

Police said the victim was grabbed by the arm and threatened by the trio as she walked along Brighton Road yesterday afternoon.

Boy, 11, hit by car in Sandiacre

An 11-year-old boy was taken to hospital

after being hit by a car this morning.

The boy was in collision with a Volkswagen Polo at 8.05am on Derby Road, Sandiacre.

He was taken to Queens Medical Centre, Nottingham, for treatment. His injuries are not believed to have been serious.

Colin fund latest

The total amount raised for

the Colin Bloomfield Melanoma Appeal now stands at £33,461.

The fund was boosted by last week's £14,000 donation by Derby County, from tickets sold for the Norwich City game.

The shark-shaped bag disappeared after being left on a counter in McDonald's, on St Peter's Street in Derby, on Wednesday afternoon.

is set to miss the rest of the season with a tendon injury in his foot.

The 22-year-old Spaniard was hurt in training before the draw at Norwich City in the middle of March.
