What does the future hold for Chanel Cresswell from Smalley, and will she be tempted by the bright lights of Hollywood?

Late night chat with sister followed Bafta success

Euan Duncan

BBC Local Live

It's not every day you get recognised by your peers, so you have to make the most of it when the occasion happens.

That was what happened to Derbyshire actress Chanel Cresswell three days ago, as she won the BAFTA for best supporting actress for her role in This is England '90.

A late night followed. She said: "I probably went to bed at about, I'm not going to lie, it was probably about half six in the morning.

"But me and my sister were in bed well before that, so we were just up talking and looking through our videos, so we probably went to bed about two."

Euan Duncan

Will microchipping reduce the number of stray dogs collected by local authorities? Steph Lenny from Castlefields Kennels in Ilkeston thinks so.

"If it can prevent a dog from even coming into a place like this you can't argue with it. It's going to be brilliant," she said.
