The Care Quality Commission carried out an unannounced inspection of Sherwood Forest Care Home in March.

Its report revealed that the service wasn't consistently safe and there weren't always enough staff to meet people's needs.

But the people they spoke to using the home said they felt safe. And in two areas, caring and being responsive, it was rated good.

My guess is it had something to do with a stubborn nightwatchman, Worcestershire's Ed Barnard who was eventually out for 73 today.

'Fly' waste site could be cleared by target date

Sales of fly spray and sticky paper soared as the flies pestered residents in the New Zealand area of Derby.

Despite waste still being on the site the Environment Agency says the community has reported no issues since early June.

The Environment Agency said: “The site is not yet clear but if the waste removal continues at the current rate it's possible that the deadline of the 7 July [to clear the waste] can still be met."

Plague of flies in Derby ends
