Could Phil Brown be set for an England call-up?

Rumours Phil Brown could be linked with a role in the new England set-up are "inevitable", according to the Southend United manager himself.

Brown worked with England's likely new manager Sam Allardyce as his assistant at Bolton between 2000 and 2005.

The Blues boss turned down the chance to become Allardyce's right hand man at Sunderland last season.

If the England role came around of course you'd have to consider it... To be involved in the England set-up is the pinnacle of any manager's career."
