Traffic and Travel: Congestion following earlier accident in Hull

The road is clear following that earlier accident on the A165 Holderness Road but it is still causing delays.

Traffic is slow and heavier than usual on B1237 Saltshouse Road in Hull between the Mitcham Road junction and the A165 Holderness Road junction.

BreakingTraffic and Travel: Road closed due to accident

A car and a motorcyclist have been involved in an accident on the A165 Holderness Road.

The road is closed westbound at A1033 Mount Pleasant junction.

It's causing severe congestion on the A1033 Mount Pleasant to the Damsom Lane junction.

The motorcyclist sustained serious, but non life-threatening injuries.

Police are directing traffic.

Sea of Hull: What will the artwork look like?

All we know is the naked participants will be painted blue somewhere in the city centre on Saturday, 9 July.

The Hull installation will be one of the highlights at the Ferens Art Gallery during 2017, when Hull is host to the UK City of Culture celebrations.

The artist is to also create a second installation on Sunday, 10 July inviting a select group of participants to take part in another event in North Lincolnshire.

Nic Dakin, the MP for Scunthorpe says an announcement by steel giant Tata should not have major implications for the works in North Lincolnshire.

The site employs thousands of people across the region.

Mr Dakin says there are already plans in the pipeline to sell the town's steelworks to a firm called Greybull Capital which should secure its future.

Beverley campaigner Jill Cutsforth wants more restrictions on the use of fireworks.

A petition she administrates has gathered more than 100,000 signatures, so will be considered for debate by parliament.

Jill says using fireworks when it's not special occasions such as New Year and Bonfire Night causes problems for pets as well people with certain health conditions.
