National Obesity Forum: We should "eat fat to stay thin"

James Piekos

Reporter, BBC Hull and East Yorkshire

We've been talking about fat this morning and asking what you think to the National Obesity Forum saying "Eating fat does not make you fat".

They've attacked official dietary guidelines saying the promotion of low-fat food has had "disastrous health consequences" and should be reversed.

It says official guidelines are to blame for a rise in obesity and diabetes, but Public Health England has accused the charity of being "irresponsible".'

East Yorkshire and Lincolnshire

Councillors in North Yorkshire are expected to decide this evening whether to allow fracking for shale gas to take place in England for the first time since 2011.

The company involved, Third Energy, wants to use the process at one of its existing drilling sites, near the village of Kirby Misperton near Malton.

Campaigners fear if the company's given permission fracking could then take place in East Yorkshire.
