Man wanted over assault in Hull

Humberside Police have released this image of a man who is wanted in connection with an assault in Hull city centre in the early hours of Saturday morning. 

A 25-year-old man was knocked out following an altercation with two other men while on a night out. 

Following the incident the injured man needed treatment at Hull Royal Infirmary for a head injury.

Police appeal for witnesses who helped Hull attack victim

A search is on to find two men who helped a distressed woman in Hull in the early hours of Saturday morning. 

It's claimed the 27-year-old was grabbed by a man who allegedly tried to take her into a nearby alleyway.

She managed to run away into the road where a car stopped and two men in a VW Golf helped her. 

A 33-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted sexual assault and has been released on bail.

Danny Houghton and Scott Taylor have been nominated for the Super League's Player of the Month award for May.

The Black and Whites moved to the top of the Super League on Saturday after a 32-24 victory against ST Helens at the KCOM stadium.

Watch: Council holds 'low level' talks with potential buyers for Hull City

The leader of Hull City council has confirmed it has had "low level" talks with parties interested in buying the city's football club. 

Stephen Brady said he'd like to work with whoever owns the club and help them develop the area around the KCOM stadium. 

He also said fans must be united with the club going forward. Some supporters are unhappy about changes to season tickets:

Horse medication stolen from farm near Hull

Horse medication that is potentially dangerous to humans has been stolen from a farm near Hull. 

Around 50 yellow tranquiliser tablets were taken from Owstwick. 

Officers say just taking one of the pills would be sufficient to harm a person.

Nature reserve opened up to wheelchair users

Yorkshire Water's Tophill Low nature reserve near Driffield is going to be opened up to wheelchair users. 

The water firm is working with a not-for-profit company, Experience Community, to make changes to the reserve. 

At present its bird hides and viewing points are currently inaccessible to anyone in a wheelchair.

Man attacked for his mobile phone and £20

A man has been attacked on Vane Street in Hull by two men and a woman when he refused to give them any money. 

They took the 44-year-old victim's mobile phone and wallet last Thursday evening.

The victim suffered a swollen right eye, swollen lip and a blooded mark to his cheek.

Researchers have been recording Jason talking, along with men with a similar accent, so that they can create a computerised voice that sounds as close to his accent as possible.

Ceremonies held to remember the Battle of Jutland

A special service is being held today in Grimsby to mark 100 years since a famous naval battle known as 'The Battle of Jutland'. 

It happened during the First World War in the North Sea - and became the longest sea battle in history.

Today's services in Hull and Grimsby Minster will commemorate local people who fought in the battle and local fishing fleets who served during the war.

Inquiries continue after serious car crash in East Yorkshire

Investigations are continuing after a crash which left seven people injured, three of them seriously, in East Yorkshire. 

The crash happened on the B1253 near Octon, north of Driffield on Monday. 

Three people were taken to Hull Royal Infirmary for treatment and four others were taken to Scarborough. The road was closed for a number of hours.

The funeral of the rugby league legend Roger Millward will take place today in West Yorkshire. 

Many fans were shocked when the former Hull Kingston Rovers captain and coach died at the beginning of the month. 

Fans are allowed to attend today's service in Pontefract but may have to stand outside the church.
