Hull City supporters meet Premier League over concessions row

News of Steve Bruce's departure came a day after Hull City supporters Trust met with the Premier League to discuss concerns regarding the club's changes to ticket prices.

Hull City announced a new membership scheme in March and say some fans could save as much as £282 a season. 

But a number of supporters are angry that concessions aren't being made available for OAPs and children.

The Premier League say they are aware of the issues and are in discussions with Hull City.

Steve Bruce leaves Hull City

Steve Bruce has left his role as manager of newly promoted Premier League club Hull City.

The 55-year-old, who did not take training on Friday, had said earlier this summer he was uncertain of his future at Hull, who are up for sale.

Bruce became Hull boss in 2012, and led them to promotion last season.

This week he was interviewed by the Football Association over the vacant England's manager role, which Sam Allardyce is set to take.

Protest over changes to Hull Ice Arena coaching staff

About a dozen people have protested outside Hull's Ice Arena over changes to coaching staff at the centre.

People say they're angry that their lessons have been disrupted after a reduction in the number of self-employed coaches following a review of services.

Hull Culture and Leisure Limited, which runs the arena, told the BBC earlier this month that some of the coaching staff's behaviour was not acceptable.

Humberside Police say that officers are currently in attendance at an address in the Albermarle Street area of Hull.

A 19-year-old man is on the roof of a property and police are working with the him to talk him down to safety.

An 18-year-old man has been arrested for obstructing the police and is police custody at this time.

Grafton street stabbing update: Man and woman remain in hospital

Yesterday we reported that a man and a woman were in hospital with knife wounds after police were called to a house in Hull.

Officers attended the incident on Grafton Street in the city just before 21:00 on Wednesday night. 

Both casualties remain in hospital but their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

A 47-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident.

Farmer's union call for meeting with Brexit Secretary David Davis

The National Farmers Union is asking for a meeting with the Brexit Secretary David Davis. 

The NFU is worried horticultural business won't be able to hire foreign workers post-Brexit. 

It says the effect of this on fruit and salad growing businesses could be "disastrous".

Mr Davis, the MP for Haltemprice and Howden, has been appointed Secretary of State for Exiting the European Union by Theresa May.

Fifteen-year-old Grimsby girl goes missing

Humberside Police say they're concerned for a missing 15-year-old girl from Grimsby.

Caitlin Dowling, from Highfield Avenue, was last seen at 00:30 on Wednesday and was reported missing by her family at 20:30 the same day.

She is described as white, 5ft 4ins with a medium build, long, straight, brown hair and green eyes. She was last seen wearing a black and red top, dark blue jeans and blue Adidas trainers.

Listen: Cleethorpes 'booming' despite property prices claim

There are claims that Cleethorpes is on the up, despite property website Zoopla naming it as the seaside resort with the biggest fall in house prices. 

Zoopla says property values in the resort fell by 5.5% over the past year to an average of £126,331 - the biggest annual drop in Britain.

But businesses in Cleethorpes say it's actually a resort with a booming economy.

Andrew McCluskey runs the Kingsway Kiosks café on the seafront and says big events have helped.

Hull's annual food festival gets under way

Hull's annual food festival begins today.

Last year the Yum Festival brought an extra 36,000 people into the city centre over two days. 

This year's event is being held in Queens Gardens and will feature independent traders, street food and other activities.

  • Some businesses in Cleethorpes have told us visitor numbers are increasing. They say events like the recent National Armed forces Day have helped put the resort on the visitor map

  • A new micropub with a difference has opened in Withernsea. The Boathouse is situated in the former lifeboat station on Seaside Road
