Thank you for joining us on our live feed across East Yorkshire and the Humber today. 

Lets look back at five things we didn't know when we woke up this morning.

  1. More than 1,000 Hull FC fans turned up at the KCOM stadium to see their team head down for Wembley.
  2. A total of 18 cases of people being scammed into booking holidays are being investigated by Humberside Police.   
  3. The Albert Hall in Hull has been demolished.
  4. Labour leadership candidate Owen Smith will meet with party activists in Hull on Sunday.   
  5. People in Bridlington like having a selfie with BBC Look North's Peter Levy.

More than 1,000 fans send off Hull FC

More than 1,000 Hull FC fans turned out this lunchtime to see their team depart for Wembley.

The Black and Whites' players boarded the team bus at the KCOM Stadium ahead of their Challenge Cup Final against Warrington on Saturday. 

Hull FC will be backed by up to 20,000 fans this weekend as they look to win at Wembley for the very first time.

Three deny murder after man stabbed in Hull street

A teenager stabbed a man through the heart after he was bumped into in the street by a stranger in Hull, a court has heard.

Three men are accused of murdering 21-year-old Mateusz Szleper in February.

Hull Crown Court was told the victim had been at a takeaway with friends and as they left, one bumped into Agustin Sula, 18, triggering a chain of events which lead to Mr Szleper being left with a 15cm stab wound to the heart.

Mr Sula, his brother Ermal Sula, 24, and Abdullah Ali Haydar, 18, all deny murder and the trial continues.

GCSE success for parts of the region

GCSE students in parts of our region are getting more top grades than ever. 

In East Yorkshire pupils getting five or more A* to C grades has risen from 56% last year to 67% this year.

Around 65% of students in North Lincolnshire also got top grades and in Hull that figure is around 55%, which is an improvement on last year's 49%. 

Nationally there's been a significant drop in the number of teenagers getting a C grade or above.

Scunthorpe hospital offers cash incentives for help to find staff

Scunthorpe General Hospital says a shortage of about 200 nurses and doctors provoked them to offer financial incentives to staff who refer people for jobs.

They tweeted earlier this week saying they'd give £250 for referrals.

So far six people have already taken them up on the offer.

Hull City's Ahmed Elmohamady believes they can beat Manchester United

Hull City's Ahmed Elmohamady believes they can win a third successive Premier League game on Saturday, when they play Manchester United at The KCom Stadium. 

They've only achieved that once before, when they won four on the trot in 2008. 

Despite the lack of new signings and numerous injuries, Elmohamady says they can rely on a great team spirit.

Beverley and Holderness MP Graham Stuart has visited Eon’s Humber Gateway offshore windfarm to learn more about the technology. 

The Humber Gateway windfarm is made up of 73 giant turbines and located 8km off the Holderness coast.

Fake holiday scam investigated by police

A total of 18 cases of people being scammed into booking holidays which didn't exist are being investigated by Humberside Police. 

The victims paid between £30 and £170 to secure the breaks in a luxury lodge in Sherwood Forest, after it was advertised on social media.

More than £64,000 was lost by would-be holiday makers from our region last year after being tricked into handing over money to online criminals.

Two people in hospital after car and motorbike crash in Hull

Two people are in hospital with serious injuries after a road accident on a main road in Hull last night.

Police were called to Beverley Road near the Inglemire Lane junction just after 21:00, after the accident involving a motorbike and two cars. 

One of the cars had overturned. Its driver, a woman in her 70s, is in hospital as is the motorcyclist.

A Volkswagen Passatt was also involved. 

Albert Hall in Hull demolished

The Albert Hall in Hull has been demolished.

The Victorian entertainment venue on Midland Street had the capacity to hold 800 people in its day. It  was latterly used as a pub and bingo hall but has been derelict since the 1970s.

Teacher struck off for swearing at pupils wins appeal

A religious education teacher who was struck off for calling his pupils "dickheads" and "weirdos" is to be allowed to have the decision reviewed after two years following an appeal.

Vasim Shabir, who formerly taught at the Vale Academy in Brigg, was banned from teaching indefinitely after a misconduct hearing in March.

The panel heard evidence that the 33-year-old was guilty of unacceptable professional conduct, including "an overall disregard and lack of respect for women".  

He appealed against the panel's decision not to allow a review of the ban and will now be allowed to apply for it to be lifted from March 2018.

Plans to crack down on 'nuisance' off-road motorbikes

Police in Hornsea have received 47 complaints about young people using off-road motorbikes in the fields off Burton Road, Hornsea, since April.

These bikes do cause a nuisance to the wider community and we want to reassure residents and visitors that we are doing all we can to locate those responsible and will take action where appropriate.
