Peaks Parkway has today been announced as North East Lincolnshire Council's preferred site for Grimsby Town's new stadium.

The area near Weelsby Road was one of six areas shortlisted.

Take a look at what Mr Fenty told us last year in the video below:

Nope, traffic mayhem will ensue, much better places off the A180."

This site will be fine with new roads. Also it's central to most of those who would walk. Also remember games are not every day look at Blundell park now that's on people's door steps."

Chris

It has to be a big no. Why do they need a new ground? Do they fill their present one to capacity every week. I think not, so why all the fuss?"

Transport police appeal for help in tracking alleged hate crime incident

Natalie Glanvill

Reporter BBC Radio Humberside

Do you recognise the men in these images?

British Transport Police officers want to speak to them about an incident of hate crime that took place at Scunthorpe station.

It's alleged to have happened on Saturday 6 August at around 21:30 BST.

A 16-year-old boy was returning from a Pride event with a flag.

Officers say three men followed the boy before making several homophobic comments before kicking him in an attempt to take his flag.

This was a terrifying experience for the young victim who was returning from an enjoyable day out. We will not tolerate hate crime and nor should anyone else. It is vital we find those responsible for this vile attack.

High levels of food poverty found in Hull according to researchers

BBC Local Live

One in 25 people in England cannot afford to feed themselves, research suggests.

A new study estimates that 4.1% of the population is facing the worsening problem of food poverty.

Researchers mapped food poverty across England.

They highlighted Hull as a city with one of the greatest number of areas where people were at high risk of struggling with grocery bills.

In low income families struggling to feed themselves, free school meals is a crucial lifeline and 'holiday hunger' is a real concern at present."
