'Severe and institutionalised abuse'

Abuse was "so severe and institutionalised" at a specialist school for the deaf in Margate that urgent reform is needed of care for the "extremely vulnerable" - that's according to a report compiled by Craig Mackinlay, the MP for South Thanet.

Earlier this year footage exclusively obtained by BBC South East showed carers drinking, stripping and swearing in front of residents at Westgate College - a boarding house for disabled young adults in Margate.

Here are the report's main recommendations:

Dreamland Trust 'delighted' attraction is free

Dreamland, in Margate, will offer free entry, with visitors only having to pay for rides they use. The decision comes after the attraction went into administration.

The news has been welcomed by the Dreamland Trust, a charity that emerged in 2009 to stop the site from being developed for housing and shops.

We hope a restructured or new operator will also embrace the concept of an amusement park of historic rides, which would create an attraction that is unique in the world, distinctively different to other seaside amusement parks and theme parks in the UK"
