Appeal over missing 'vulnerable' man

A fresh appeal has launched to help find a "vulnerable" man who went missing in Ashford.

Edward Jones, 73, was last seen at around 12:00 BST on Monday walking towards south Ashford from the Ashford International train station.

Insp Greg McNeil, from Kent Police, said: "Mr Jones is quite frail and vulnerable and sometimes gets confused.

"He has now been missing for more than 24 hours and, with heavy rain forecast, we and his family are becoming extremely concerned for his welfare."

The police helicopter and volunteers from Kent Search and Rescue have been involved in the search for Mr Jones.

George Low: Parents tell of shock over release of murder suspect

The parents of a man murdered in Cyprus have expressed their shock over the release of a murder suspect in the northern part of the island.

Estate agent George Low, 22, from Dartford, was killed near a nightclub in Ayia Napa in Cyprus in August.

An arrest warrant was issued for Sali Ahmet, 42, who fled to the north with a second suspect, Mehmet Akpinar, 22.

They were arrested there for an unrelated offence but both were allowed to leave without being charged.
