It is a decade since Accrington Stanley's Rommy Boco re-wrote the history of the famous Lancashire club.

The Benin international scored the club's first goal since their return to the Football League - some 44 years after their last strike.

Stanley resigned from the Football League in 1962 because of financial difficulties, with the current club reforming six years later as a non-league outfit.

Carpool karaoke star Ted, 79, goes viral

A former Butlin's Redcoat who is suffering from Alzheimer's has become an internet star singing carpool karaoke.

Ted McDermott, 79 - also known online as The Songaminute Man - was diagnosed with dementia in 2013 after decades of entertaining in pubs and clubs.

He was filmed by his son singing Quando, Quando, Quando in the car as they drove around Blackburn in May.

The videos have now been watched by thousands around the world on YouTube.

Women suffer spinal injuries after car lands on roof on Grane Road in Blackburn

Two women have been taken to hospital with suspected spinal injuries after a car came off a major road out of Blackburn and landed on its roof in a farmer's field.

Turkish arrest warrant issued for former Blackburn striker

Turkish prosecutors investigating the recent failed coup in the country have issued an arrest warrant for one of the country's best-known footballers, former Blackburn striker Hakan Sukur.

Searches were carried out at two houses in western Turkey, as officials said he faced charges of being a member of an "armed terrorist organisation".

A former MP for the ruling AK party, Hakan Sukur is a known supporter of the cleric blamed for the botched coup.

He moved to the US several months ago.

Legendary band New Order release new beer

Burnley's award winning Moorhouse's Brewery has joined forces with the legendary Manchester musicians New Order to create a new beer.

It is called Stray Dog and is named after a track on the band's new album.

Councils at loggerheads over bus funding withdrawal

The chairman of Sabden Parish Council has accused Lancashire County Council of neglecting their responsibilities after subsidies for the village's bus service were withdrawn.

Anthony Haworth said was not possible for the parish council to provide the money for a replacement service.

Three-day Royal Lancashire Show under way

One of Britain's oldest agricultural show has begun in Blackburn.

The Royal Lancashire Show, which first took place in 1767, is taking place at Witton Park for the first time.

Fylde host Brackley in National League North in their first game of the new season.

Having missed out on promotion last season, manager Dave Challinor is confident there will be a feel good factor in new surroundings.

"It's a fresh start in a fresh stadium. We've really got to cherish what's in front of us this season."

The prosecution alleges Sarah Williams, 35, murdered her so she could have her partner, Ian Johnston, to herself.

A father who is suffering from Alzheimer's has raised almost £30,000 for charity by singing carpool karaoke.

Former Butlins redcoat Ted McDermott was diagnosed with dementia in 2013. 

Ted is fundraising with his son, Simon, singing carpool karaoke for the Alzheimer's Society.

Simon said: "I hate Alzheimer's but I think strangely it's brought us closer together."
