The owner of a scrapyard in Great Harwood has said denied fires are being started at the site following complaints from residents.
Mary Smith told BBC Radio Lancashire's Graham Liver there have been no fires on the T H Smith and Sons yard but confirmed that there had been fires next to her property.
There have been numerous complaints made to Hyndburn Council and the Environment Agency about smoke coming from the area.
The Environment Agency said it is "working with and supporting the police, fire service and Hyndburn Council to help deliver a permanent resolution".
A Lancashire man suffering from Alzheimer's who became an internet star singing carpool karaoke has seen donations to an appeal he supported double in the last few days.
It is after videos of Simon and Ted McDermott singing in Simon's car went viral.
Ted - a former Butlins' redcoat and known as the songaminute man - was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease in 2013.
The pair have now raised more than £60,000 for the Alzheimer's Society.
A man has been injured after being hit by his own van in a suspected carjacking in Oswaldtwistle.
The 24-year-old got out of the vehicle at the Britannia pub on Saturday when he was approached by three men.
He was struck when one man got into the van and drove off. The two other men ran away.
The vehicle was later found abandoned on the bridge over the M65 on Haslingden Old Road.

A man has been left in a coma after a serious assault in Blackpool on Sunday.
The 55-year-old was attacked near to Ma Kelly's pub on Talbot Road about 19:10.
Police believe he had been arguing with another man, before being punched and falling to the ground where he struck his head.
He was taken to Royal Preston Hospital, where he is in an induced coma and his condition is described as critical.

Six teenagers were rescued from the former Duke of Edinburgh pub building in Blackburn after it collapsed, police have confirmed.
Firefighters and specialist search and rescue teams were called to the former Duke of Edinburgh pub in Crabtree Street at about 18:00 on Monday.
The six 15-year-old boys, who are not believed to have been seriously hurt, had been seen "in and around the building" before it collapsed, Lancashire Police said.

I'm at Preston Crown Court where the jury in the Sadie Hartley murder trial have retired to consider their verdict.
Sarah Williams and Katrina Walsh deny killing Ms Hartley at her home in Lancashire.
The 25-year-old, from Burnley, threw a new British record of 74.54m on her final attempt to climb from fifth to third.
"I am over the moon, I can't believe it," she said.
Hitchon, who finished fourth at the World Championships in Beijing last year, was in the bronze-medal position until the fourth round but fifth before her final throw.
