Leeds 2-1 Wolves

Three wins from three for Leeds United then, and they are challenging for a top ten finish for the first time this season.

Steve Evans thinks that Leeds have a good chance of the play-offs next season - and an even better chance if he is still head coach.

You can listen to our post-match interview with Steve Evans here.

We'll be back on Saturday for the clash with Hull City. Until then, thank you for joining us and enjoy the rest of your evening.

"If I've seen Sol Bamba shoot 47 times, I've never seen him hit the target, let alone score!" Evans continued.

"Lewis Cook seems to be getting better and better and there's lots of pleasing things tonight; I thought Lewie Coyle and Lee Erwin were stunning in the second half.

"Lewis is a stunning young player and this club has to continue to develop him. I take great pride in him because I think this club has made him better. He is a wonderful player."

@WYSdaily Sol Bamba was 33/1 to score first with the bookmakers. To score a half volley was a million to one.

@WYSdaily Why cant they play like that every week, great to watch!

Steve Evans on tonight's win

Leeds 2-1 Wolves

"The second half was pretty special," Steve Evans told BBC Radio Leeds.

"The first half, Chris Wood could have scored three or four and then in the second half we could have had seven or eight, such was the quality.

"We've said for a long time that the longer we are here, the better Leeds will become. A lot of players have points to prove but I have no doubt if we remain in charge, we will fight for promotion."

WYS - How can a 19 year old control the entire second half? Mental... Deffo gonna leave for a bargain. @WYSdaily

@WYSdaily Well done Steve Evans you frustrate me at times but you deserve a proper crack at it with proper backing #mot #lufc

Noel on Evans' future

Leeds 2-1 Wolves

Ex-Leeds United striker

Steve Evans has done more and above with this team in the season as a whole.

If they had started the season like this, imagine where they could have been.

As it stands

Leeds 2-1 Wolves

There's still a few full-time whistles to go, but Leeds are currently 11th in the Championship. They haven't been in the top ten all season, which really shows how impressive the past few games have been from a Leeds point of view.

Noel on Bamba's stunner

Leeds 2-1 Wolves

Noel Whelan

Ex-Leeds United striker

I don't think Sol Bamba will ever score a better goal than that.

It was as sweet as you like and there was nothing the goalkeeper could have done about that.

It's a goal Bamba will remember for a long long time.

FULL TIME: Leeds 2-1 Wolves

Ridiculous second half is up, and that's three wins in three for Leeds United.

One stunning goal from Sol Bamba that no-one was expecting and the man that never scores, Toumani Diagouraga, knocked in his third for Leeds.

Leeds 2-1 Wolves

It's not been difficult tonight to see why Lewis Cook won the FA's Young Player of the Year award. He's been top quality and, somehow, still has plenty of energy. Oh to be young again.

Leeds 2-1 Wolves

Wolves are looking the more dominant now as James Henry flashes a shot across the goal, which causes a collective intake of breath around Elland Road.

Leeds 2-1 Wolves

Four minutes of added time ahead then, as Wolves keep on pressing forward.

Leeds 2-1 Wolves

This is genuinely impressive from Leeds as Stuart Dallas becomes the next to hit the crossbar. Lewis Cook tees him up from 20 yards out and Dallas' sends a lovely curling strike in that grazes the bar.

Leeds 2-1 Wolves

Lewis Cook shoots low and wide of the left-hand post. A great pull back by Gaetano Berardi teed Cook up but the youngster couldn't wrap his foot around it and get enough power on it.

Leeds 2-1 Wolves

Chris Wood does well to get into space as Leeds break, but he's just beaten by Kortney Hause in the air.

Leeds 2-1 Wolves

There's some proper good football going on from Leeds at the minute, as Liam Cooper wins a header against Adam Le Fondre and Leeds surge up field.

Leeds 2-1 Wolves

Liam Cooper flicks the ball into Joe Mason's path but a great save from Marco Silvestri stops Wolves from equalising. It was low and Silvestri just got his feet to it in time.

Leeds 2-1 Wolves

Leeds make their final change, with Liam Bridcutt coming on for Luke Murphy, who walks off to a great round of applause.

Leeds 2-1 Wolves

At the other end, Jordan Botaka makes his first touch count. A lovely run from Lewis Cook finds Botaka, who knocks it onto the bar from inside the box. Superb move by Cook though.

BreakingGOAL SAVILLE: LEEDS 2-1 WOLVES

Leeds, why do you do this?

Jordan Botaka nearly makes Carl Ikeme pay for a fumble in goal as he advances on the keeper, but Ikeme recovers and clears up the pitch.

George Saville picks up the clearance on the edge of the box and drills it low past Marco Silvestri.

Leeds 2-0 Wolves

And Leeds follow suit, as Lee Erwin comes off and Jordan Botaka comes on. Another decent round of applause for the youngster.

Leeds 2-0 Wolves

Luke Murphy is the next Leeds player to have a go as he picks up a cross from Chris Wood but there's not enough power on the shot and he curls it into Carl Ikeme's hands.

Leeds 2-0 Wolves

Every Leeds player wants the ball now, as Sol Bamba goes long and Carl Ikeme collects it before Lee Erwin can dart forward.

Leeds 2-0 Wolves

Stuart Dallas comes charging down, looking for Lewis Cook inside the box, but Wolves stick a body in the way to end the birthday boy's effort.

Leeds 2-0 Wolves

Right, I've about recovered from all that. The South Stand are singing 'there's only one Steve Evans,' just as Dave Edwards scuffs the ball wide of the net for Wolves.

BreakingGOAL DIAGOURAGA: LEEDS 2-0 WOLVES

Goals are like buses, et cetera et cetera...

Lewis Cook sends the ball in low to Toumani Diagouraga, who is hovering on the penalty line, and he drills it past Carl Ikeme and into the net.

Diagouraga, who didn't score in three years for Brentford, has scored three for Leeds in four months.

Leeds 1-0 Wolves

Might as well end this game now, nothing's going to top that from Sol Bamba. Stunning strike, and Carl Ikeme got absolutely nowhere near it.

Leeds 1-0 Wolves

BreakingGOAL BAMBA: LEEDS 1-0 WOLVES

What a belter that is from Sol Bamba - a ridiculous strike that has put Leeds in front.

Bamba is grinning fit to burst and you can't blame him. WHAT a strike!

He takes the pass from Stuart Dallas onto his chest and absolutely smashes it from 20 yards out into the top corner. Ignore the rest of the match and just watch that on repeat. Superb.

Leeds 0-0 Wolves

A good ball from Charlie Taylor comes in, out and eventually finds it way to Stuart Dallas, who knocks it over the bar via a Wolves knee. Good defending from Wolves, who got all the right body parts in all the right places, but Taylor's crosses were excellent.

Leeds 0-0 Wolves

Anything Wolves can do, Leeds can do better, as Lewie Coyle makes way for Stuart Dallas. Coyle gets a really warm round of applause as he walks off, which is always good to see.

Leeds 0-0 Wolves

Wolves make their first change, bringing on Adam Le Fondre for Jeremy Helan. Le Fondre has scored in three of his last four games against Leeds.

Leeds 0-0 Wolves

It's very much an end of season game, this. Someone needs to score a goal, and preferably soon.

Leeds 0-0 Wolves

Lee Erwin wins a corner for Leeds that comes to nothing, before Wolves do the same at the other end. Pretty end-to-end stuff so far.

Leeds 0-0 Wolves

Charlie Taylor fights back for Leeds almost instantly from a free-kick, but Carl Ikeme watches it go past his far post.

Leeds 0-0 Wolves

Early chance for Wolves as Luke Murphy gives the ball away to Bjorn Siguardson, who fires high and wide.

Leeds 0-0 Wolves

Back underway at Elland Road and there's no changes for either side. Can someone - pretty please - break the deadlock?

One part of this sentence is not true

Leeds 0-0 Wolves
