Today, it's a married couple who are partners on the badminton court, as well as off it.

Gabby Adcock from Leeds and her husband Chris will play in the mixed doubles. It's been a hugely successful combination so far as Dave Edwards reports.

Funeral of Jo Cox MP to be held this week

The funeral of West Yorkshire MP Jo Cox will take place on Friday 15 July.

It will be a private service for immediate family only, followed by a function for invited guests.

However, the cortege will follow a route around Jo's constituency, which will see it slow at two locations to allow members of the public to pay their respects.

From approximately 10:30, the cortege will follow a route along the A638 in Heckmondwike towards a slow-down point on Westgate/Market Street.

The cortege will then continue towards Batley where shortly after there will be a further slow-down point on Market Place/Cambridge Street before it leaves Batley.

Mrs Cox’s family has asked that they be allowed to grieve privately then.

Danny Ward: Liverpool goalkeeper set to join Huddersfield Town on loan

BBC Sport understands Liverpool keeper Danny Ward has signed a five-year contract extension and will join Huddersfield on a season-long loan.

Ward joined Liverpool from Wrexham in January 2012 and played his first two games for the club last season.

The 23-year-old joined Aberdeen on loan in July 2015, making 29 appearances before being recalled in January.

Morrisons bakery reopened after huge blaze

A supermarket bakery has reopened just days after it was torn apart by ferocious fire.

The blaze gutted around 80% of the 86,000 sq ft building near Wakefield.

About 50 firefighters attended the fire on Sunday 3 July and roads surrounding the site were closed.

Yorkshire food producers urging goverment to introduce 'protected status' laws

Some of Yorkshire's most iconic food producers are urging the government to introduce new laws to preserve their protected status.

Products like Wensleydale cheese and Yorkshire forced rhubarb have a special status under EU law which adds value to their products. 

It took Wensleydale seven years to get the award, and producers want action to protect jobs and profits after the EU referendum vote which may mean they lose their special status under EU law.

A new way of cooking - and heating our homes - could be rolled out in Leeds before anywhere else in the country.

The parents of a man who died when his car was struck at high speed have put the wreckage on display at Westminster today as part of a campaign  for stiffer sentences by the West Yorkshire charity Brake.

Brake is using the dramatic display to call for drivers who kill to be charged with manslaughter, rather than causing death by dangerous or careless driving.

A woman's recovering after becoming impaled on a fence at Kirkstall Abbey in Leeds.

The parents of a man who died when his car was struck at high speed have put the wreckage on display at Westminster today as part of a campaign by the West Yorkshire charity Brake for stiffer sentences.

Joseph Brown-Lartey was in a 30mph zone when his car was hit by a driver speeding at 80mph in Rochdale two years ago. 

Brake, which is based in Huddersfield, is using the dramatic display to call for drivers who kill to be charged with manslaughter, rather than causing death by dangerous or careless driving.

Huddersfield Giants: Ex-Newcastle Knights boss appointed as new head coach

Super League side Huddersfield Giants have appointed former Newcastle Knights boss Rick Stone as their new head coach until the end of the 2018 season.

Giants, who are 11th in Super League and will now compete in the Qualifiers, had been without a head coach since sacking Paul Anderson in June.

Stone, 49, took charge of Knights for a second time in September 2014, but was sacked in July 2015.

Leeds should be the first city in the UK to convert its gas grid to hydrogen to help meet carbon reduction targets, a report has suggested.

Northern Gas Networks (NGN) claims a nationwide move away from methane to a hydrogen grid was "technically possible and economically viable".

The gas distributor said conversion could start in Leeds by 2026, with estimated costs of £2bn.
