Analysis: EMAS 'interested in' non-emergency contract

Rob Sissons

East Midlands Today health correspondent

This non-emergency service involves transporting thousands of patients every week between home and hospital.

Arriva has been repeatedly criticised in Leicester because of delays.

Now the NHS has rejected the original option of automatically renewing Arrivas current five-year contract for a further two years when it ends in June next year.

East Midlands Ambulance service says it is interested in bidding but wants to see the fine print of any new contract.
