Soulsby: Time right for development

BBC Local Live

Leicester mayor Sir Peter Soulsby has been speaking about Tigers' plans to take over the Granby Halls site.

"We've been reluctant until now to develop this site because it has been a very useful car park," he said.

"Now the Leicester Royal Infirmary have got their car park that has taken a lot of the pressure off that used to be there."

Remember this classic tune?

BBC Local Live

Its fair to say that there's been a fair few Leicester City related songs around over the past few weeks but none of them compare to one Stewart Osgood has dusted off from the record box.

It's a 45 inch vinyl of a song called "Champions" and sung by the City team during the promotion-winning 1979/80 season. It also features an interview with then manager Jock Wallace.

BBC Radio Leicester has been speaking to club historian John Hutchinson about it...

Tom Symonds

Andy McWilliams, the agent for the defeated UKIP candidate David Sprason, has told the BBC he made the complaint after a series of postal votes were rejected two days before the election last Thursday.

The UKIP official said around 30 of the ballots had signatures which didn't match with those on applications submitted for a postal vote.

He said 430 rejected ballots were being examined.
