Dry and fine this evening with clear skies at first overnight however high cloud rolling in from the west.

Tomorrow it will be mostly dry and fairly bright first thing but it will cloud over through the morning with showers affecting more northern parts for a time, remaining rather cloudy after that.

That's the new name for this van used by police in south Leicester.

Police ran a competition to name the van - the winning entry was eight-year-old Ryan Worley, a pupil from Marriott Road Primary School.

Rooney questions golfers commitment

The Loughborough-based sprinter Martyn Rooney has questioned some golfers' commitment to the sport being part of the Olympics.

The top four players in the world have pulled out of the competition because of fears about the Zika virus.

Rooney will be competing in the games next month but says his wife and son wont be going. 

He thinks the golfers might have made a different decision had there been money involved in the tournament.

Alan Graham from the Trent Rivers Trust came up with the idea and says it's about "mimicking nature".

He says: "Rather than the water going straight into the drainage channels and into the watercourse we're actually going to store it in these beds.

"They're much deeper than you can see, they are a mix of mulch, sand and top soil so it will store an awful lot of water and allow it to slowly go into the watercourse over 48 hours reducing the flood risk downstream."

Peter Flack claims the Loughborough MP will be no loss to the Education Department.

There's going to be a rally in Leicester's Town Hall later about the closure of the adult education college Vaughan Centre.

The centre is run by the University of Leicester - they have decided to suspend all enrolment on courses as it consults on its future.

Boy death doctor to appeal conviction

A doctor found guilty of the manslaughter of a young patient at the Leicester Royal Infirmary is appealing against her conviction.

Hadiza Bawa-Garba was convicted last November of causing the death by gross negligence of Jack Adcock from Glen Parva.

Council explains Magna Park decision

Christopher Holyoak is the planning committee chairman at Harborough District council and explains why they decided to approve the plans...

This planning application is just one of three by developers at Magna Park- the other two will be discussed later this year.

This approved expansion alone will increase the size of the site by a third and provide 1,200 new jobs, it's claimed.
